Liz Millican believes that small steps lead to big changes. Many mental health issues come because the desired goal is too big to achieve in one step and it can be difficult to figure out how to break up a goal into smaller steps. Liz helps clients clarify their desired outcomes and helps them pursue a path towards their goals.
Liz has training in many areas including trauma, and life transitions. Common issues that come up in therapy are self-acceptance, anxiety, return to work, and depression. Liz does have a general knowledge of the DSM V and less common diagnosis such as body dysmorphic disorder.
Liz has successfully worked with men and women ranging in age from as young as 18 to over 50. Liz provides therapy using techniques from CBT, Solution-Focused, and narrative therapy. Liz customizes her approach for each client and faith-based counseling is available.
